For 13 months, I was a media member and programme editor with Dewsbury Rams Rugby League Football Club, aiding the club with their match day Twitter feed and primarily, editing the programme Ram Pages with content from eight separate writers on a voluntary basis.

Working with the club throughout the 2016/17 season has been a fantastic experience that has shown me the fascinating insight in working in a full time football club. Working alongside media officer Niall Cope and his successor Henry Valantine has significantly boosted my journalistic prowess and prepared me for a full time role in the industry.

Writing for Planet Rugby has allowed me to become skilled in writing Press Association standard reports to tight deadlines, with the incoming fee helping me to fund travel to my other placements, while also benefiting me in becoming fluent with knowledge of the sport of rugby union.
